Dear ,

Last week, I wrote to you, detailing all of the areas that we have been focussed on as you approach the reopening of your pubs for the first time in at least 4 months.

Along with the BBPA and UKH, we wrote to the Prime Minister, urging him to support you by removing as many barriers as possible to trading profitably - most importantly, the call for removal of Vaccine Passports for visitors to pubs.

Whilst we have now had clarification from Government that Covid certification for your venues will not be a requirement for Step 2 and 3 on the roadmap, we continue to push for all restrictions to be completely lifted from 21st June, to ensure that your businesses can return to trading fully and freely from this point.

We have also seen this morning, the updated guidance for taking payment indoors. This has changed as a direct result of conversations with Government, ensuring that if your WiFi doesn't stretch to the bottom of your beer garden, or you don't have mobile payment terminals, you can still take payment from your customers.
Please note, that this has been positioned as a last resort with only one customer at a time allowed in your venue for the purpose of taking payment.

We also wanted to take this opportunity to remind you of all the support that we have in place for you at this critical time for your business, whether you are reopening next week, or at a later date.

Your BII Team
They are here for you Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm on 01276 684449 or membership@bii.org. They are your first port of call if you have any queries about your business, how you can reopen safely and can point you towards any further support you might need.

Support Guides
Our team have created a large number of these guides, clearly laying out actionable information on everything from how to apply for grants & loans, through to reopening checklists for your businesses. Click below to be taken to the Guides section of the website.
Trusted Partners
We have a large range of Trusted Partners who offer expert advice and solutions for your businesses, and following feedback from you, we are expanding these all the time.

One area for concern has been Utilities, specifically electricity & gas supply, with many in the hospitality industry experiencing difficulty in accessing suppliers who will take them on as customers. We have been working with our Trusted Partner, Beond for many years and they have assured us that they have a large number of solutions in place for BII members.
All of our information is continually updated, as and when new guidance is released from Government and you can find answers to the most frequently asked questions over on our FAQs page. We are awaiting further detail on Step 3, from May 17th for those of you who cannot reopen outside, and will continue to update all areas of the website as and when we have more information.

For those of you planning to welcome customers to your outside spaces on Monday 12th April, we want to wish you the very best of luck, and cannot wait to raise a glass to you all from our own local pub gardens.
