Dear

As we enter further uncertain times for our sector, I wanted to let you know that even with many of you closing your doors once more, your BII Team will be here for you every step of the way.

We will continue to provide clarity on the regulations & restrictions placed upon your businesses in the form of our newsletters, guides, expert helplines and other clear, actionable information. If you aren't already, please do click on the social media icons in this email to follow us, so that you can keep up-to-date with any breaking news.

Today's announcement from the Chancellor, extending the Coronavirus Job Retention scheme until the end of March 2021, will hopefully give you a little more time and breathing space to be able to plan for the recovery of your business.

Whilst we welcome the extension of furlough, we will continue to push for the full package of financial measures that you will need to ensure the survival of your pubs, including: the higher grant levels, continuation of Business Rates holiday, and extension of VAT discounts. In addition we are also seeking adjustments and clarification of the tier system to allow you all to trade more freely in all areas of the UK. We continue to directly engage with all levels of Government to push for the support you need.

Aside from all of the economic reasons for Government to invest in our sector, we are also taking every opportunity we can to highlight and showcase the incredible power of pubs within their local communities and the unique heritage that we must do everything we can to protect for future generations.

As part of this, we are showcasing our Heart of the Community winners from now until the end of the year, and I have written an article highlighting the critical role pubs plat in our national heritage, featured in the Morning Advertiser, to ensure your voices are heard by the widest audience possible.

Please join us in the call to #ProtectOurHeritage by using the hashtag on social media, telling everyone how vitally important pubs are as places to celebrate, commiserate and connect with each other.

Your BII Team will continue to do all we can to support you through this and to help you rebuild your essential pub businesses as trading restrictions are removed.
